What started as a cottage industry of tinkering artisans, grew to become the power-house of European silk fabric and unmistakably French design. The city growing to house over 10,000 silk looms in the 1600s.

the many kings of France supported the silk weavers in Lyon, cultivating an environment of creativity and expression for the French artisans. Exploring such styles as Baroque and Rococo design with a deep obsession for detail and ornate decorations, featuring scrolling vines, blooming flowers, and gold accents.
